A Day at the Beach

A few weekends ago we went down to our home town of Portland for Mark's high school reunion. We took the opportunity while we were there to head to the beach at Port Aransas with some of our good friends from high school. We hadn't been to the beach in probably a year and a half, so we really enjoyed ourselves. The kids had a blast playing in the sand and waves. Ryan took a while to warm up to the idea of the rolling waves, but it wasn't long before he was jumping, diving, and generally taking a face-full of water every time a wave came in. I don't even want to know how much salt water he ingested.

I wish we had the opportunity to go to the beach more often with the kids. It was such a huge part of our lives growing up, and I wish we could share that with them more frequently. Anyway, here are some pics from the day:

Rachael, showing her excitement about being at the beach.

Ryan playing with the Wilsford clan

Watching for the next wave to come in

He seriously just bit it.

Trying not to take it in the face

Not sure what she had just discovered... maybe a little shell.

Oh, the memories!! Didn't set up the volley ball net, huh? Was it 'cause Keith wasn't there to rake? :)
