Growing Boy

Ryan had his six-month well-baby visit with the doctor this morning where we found out that he is perfectly healthy! He is just like his daddy--tall and skinny! He is now 27.5 inches tall, which is around the 80th percentile for height, and he weighs just 16 lbs, 7.7 oz, which is around the 40th percentile for weight. We've told Ryan that since there's no 29th day of February, he can't progress in his age (he would be six months old on the 29th). So he has to stay our little man and 5 months old forever. Sadly, I don't think he'll keep to that, though :( He had 3 shots at the doctor's office this morning, so we're hoping he does okay this time around and doesn't feel the effects of them too much.

This is how Ryan sleeps--usually in the corner of his crib, on his tummy, knees tucked under him. He usually has both arms folded and tucked under also.


This was Ryan's first time to ride like a big boy facing forward in his stroller, rather than in his infant car seat.


Making a mess with his food; this was a result of blowing a perfectly-timed bubble in his applesauce.

If you look closely, you can see Ryan's first two teeth. The first one came in around Valentine's Day, and the second one followed just a couple days later. If you find baby boogers offensive, you might not want to look too closely at the second picture :) Unfortunately you have to get a little too close to get pictures of the tiny teeth...
