We took the kids to the local Cy Fest carnival a week and a half ago. We had been seeing the carnival as it was being set up (it was in this huge field right at the entrance to our neighborhood, so we saw it every time we entered or left our neighborhood), and the kids started begging to go because they wanted to ride the ferris wheel. So, although it was WAY too hot that afternoon, we went for a couple of hours and let them ride as many rides as they were tall enough to get on. Ryan's favorite was the ferris wheel; Rachael's favorite was the bumper cars, and both kids liked the roller coaster-- which was Ryan's first roller coaster ride, by the way. Ryan was especially devastated when the carnival left. They kept asking where the carnival went, and I told them it went to another city, and that was the reason we couldn't go again. So you can imagine my dismay when we were driving in another part of town and saw the same carnival set up there. The kids were ALL OVER IT! "Mom, can we go to the carnival? Can we? Can we?" Uh, no. Sigh.

This was some sort of slowly spinning alligator ride. You could spin your own alligator car, kind of like the spinning teacups at Disney.

Ryan, happy because we are on the ferris wheel at last.

Ryan's face in the green spinning alligator thing is hysterical!
