We just put Rachael in gymnastics a couple of weeks ago, and she seems to really enjoy it. She's only been two times, so she still doesn't completely know what she's doing, but the coaches think she'll do really well after going for a few weeks and getting used to the routine. She goes for an hour a week. The first 15 minutes they spend on the floor stretching out the arms and legs. Then they split up into smaller groups based on skill level to do the different rotations. There's a bar rotation, balance beam, trampoline, and tumbling rotation. Then they have free play at the end. I think she likes the trampoline rotation the best so far because she has a small one at home and likes to jump.
Here are a couple of videos taken of her learning how to use the bar and rings. I think the skill she is supposed to eventually master on the bar is walking her feet up the little wall behind it and then flipping her body over the bar. Right now they just want her to get used to it a little.
